My teaching helps students develop strong musical craft while discovering an individual artistic identity. Drawing on my experience in composition, music theory, aural skills, applied music, and interdisciplinary creative work, I encourage students to connect analysis and listening with technology, experimentation, and

Students I have taught and coached have earned recognition in composition, voice, and performance competitions at the state and regional levels. Achievements include:

• Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA) Student Affiliate Original Composition Contest — Large Ensemble winner and third-place winner in Solo Grades 1–3

• Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) — regional-level composition winner in the Southwest

• Fort Worth Music Teachers Association (FWMTA) Solo Competition — voice student placed as high as second and performed in an honors recital and at the state convention

• ABRSM examinations — violin and voice students earned merits and distinctions

• Students have also gained admission to selective institutions including Harvard University, Berklee College of Music, the University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Rice University
